Recommended New Brunswick Lodgings for Self Guided Tours

This is not a list of all New Brunswick lodgings. It is a totally subjective list of some of my favourite snowmobile-friendly places to stay while sledding that you might like too. Northern New Brunswick

Bathurst, Zone 5Atlantic Host. This premier snowmobiling hotel has on site restaurant and bar, indoor pool and hot tub, plus ample parking for trucks and trailers. Offers both indoor and outdoor secure sled parking. Direct trail access from NB19. View tour article #1 and tour article #2.

Edmundston, Zone 1Travelodge. This clean roadside motel is located on beside the Trans Canada Highway at Exit 13B and is a handy staging point for visitors from Ontario of Quebec. Ample parking for trucks & trailers. On site restaurant, sports bar, indoor pool and hot tub. Sleds can park in front of ground floor rooms. Direct trail access from NB12. View tour article.
Best Western Plus. Classy hotel with direct trail access, lots of parking, sled parking in front of ground floor rooms. Breakfast included, restaurants nearby & gas about a mile down the the trail. View tour article.
Gray Rock Quality Inn. Casino attached. Sled Garages. Restaurant on site. Trail accessible. View tour article.

Moose Valley, Zone 1Moose Valley Sporting Lodge. One of the popular “Into the Wild” destinations, this well-established northern outfitter offers warm hospitality, homemade pub fare and bar in main lodge, plus lodgings in five modern cottages. Ample vehicle and sled parking. On site fuel. No cell service, but access to satellite phone at lodge. Direct trail access on NB17 at intersection of Local Trail 135. View tour article.

Plaster Rock, Zone  – Settler’s Inn & Motel With a choice of motel rooms (sled parking in front) or cozy cabins, this home-style roadside accommodation is located on NB Trail 23. View tour article.

Central New Brunswick

Chipman, Zone 6 – Queen’s County Inn – Riders from the Miramichi or Frederiction areas will find the Queen’s County Inn a good staging location for snowmobiling south into the Fundy Highlands via Trail 15. With an on site restaurant (and bakery!), decent parking and fuel nearby in town, the inn is located right on the trail. View tour article

Grand Falls, Zone 1Quality Inn Pres du Lac. This 2-story hotel has ample parking for trucks & trailers, plus on site restaurant, sports bar, indoor pool and hot tub. Continental breakfast only. Sleds can park in front of ground floor rooms. NB12 runs just a block behind this clean roadside motel, with local trail access. View tour article.

Miramichi, Zone 5Travelodge. Located on the west side of the Miramichi River, this hotel has on site restaurant and indoor pool. Continental breakfast only. Sled access from the west by land trail; from the east by river crossing (turn right under highway bridge) off NB52. Also recommended: Rodd Miramichi Hotel. View tour article.

McNamee, Zone 7 Wilson’s Sporting Camps. Renown for its exceptional hospitality, this unforgettable snowmobilers’ retreat with direct access to NB Trail 42, consists of an impressive main lodge, plus riverside suites and cottages, all with a casual-classy feel of down-home ambience. Southern New Brunswick

Moncton, Zone 8Hampton InnPremium hotel offers exceptional continental breakfast in lounge area. Indoor pool & gym. 10% off dinner at Montana’s Restaurant ($7 cab fare). Take Mapleton Road exit off Trans Canada Highway 2. LT646 travels right behind the hotel, before dead-ending to the west. Plenty of trailer parking. View tour article. View tour article.

Sussex, Zone 8Adair’s Wilderness Lodge. Located in the heart of the Fundy Highlands snowbelt, these rustic log chalets offer all the comforts of home, while hosts Ida and Larry offer up tasty home cooking in the onsite restaurant.
